Pentillie Castle and Estate is located about ten miles from Plymouth on the River Tamar. It is a straightforward four hour drive or a three and half hour train journey from London.

Train

Plymouth is on the main train line from London Paddington to Penzance, only 3.5 hours from London. Pentillie is only 25 minutes by car/taxi from the station.

Air

Both Exeter and Newquay airports are about an hours drive but flights are available from many different cities both in the UK and Europe.

Car

Via M4/M5
Take the M4 to the West, Bristol and Wales. Keep going until Junction 20 (approx 2 hours) where you head for the South West and Exeter.
Follow the M5 until it becomes the A38 at Exeter (approx 1 hour). Keep in the right hand lanes as you pass Exeter to ensure that you remain on the A38.
Continue on the A38 until you reach the Tamar Bridge (approx 45 minutes).

From the Tamar Bridge follow directions below …

Via M3/A303
Take the M3 towards the South West.
At Junction 8 take the A303 towards Andover and Salisbury. After 7 roundabouts, and approximately 3 hours take the ramp towards Plymouth, Torquay, Okehampton and the M5.
Merge onto the M5 and then follow the A38 until you reach the Tamar Bridge (approx 45 minutes)

From the Tamar Bridge follow directions below…

From the Tamar Bridge and Plymouth
Take the A38 signposted to Saltash and Liskeard.
Cross the Tamar Bridge into Cornwall and keep in the right hand lane towards Liskeard and the A38.
The road passes through a tunnel and then up a long hill. Towards the top of the hill move into the right hand lane as at the roundabout you need to turn RIGHT onto the A388 towards Callington and Launceston.
Cross the mini-roundabout and continue through Carkeel and out towards Hatt.
Go straight across HATT roundabout towards Callington.
After 1 mile, at PAYNTER’S CROSS, turn RIGHT towards Cargreen, Landulph, and the Crooked Spaniards Inn.
After 100 yards you will see the granite gateposts of Pentillie Castle straight in front of you. Follow the drive all the way down to the house taking care of the speed humps, pheasants and peacocks!
(NOTE: The turning off the main road to Pentillie Castle is the second turning to Landulph and Cargreen. If you inadvertently take the first one and you don’t see Pentillie’s gates after 100 yards, DON’T PANIC! Continue to the
T-junction, turn left and go up the hill. The gates to Pentillie will be on your RIGHT at the top of the hill, beside a granite lodge house. The gates to Pentillie are on the right just before the main road, beside a granite lodge house.)

From Cornwall

Via A38
Take the A38 to Saltash. At the large roundabout turn LEFT to A388, Callington and Launceston.
Go straight across the mini-roundabout and continue through Carkeel and out
towards Hatt.
Go straight across HATT roundabout towards Callington.
After 1 mile, at PAYNTER’S CROSS, turn RIGHT towards Cargreen, Landulph,
and the Crooked Spaniards Inn.

Via A30
Take the Launceston exit off the A30. Follow signs for the A388, Plymouth, Saltash and Callington.
Follow the A388 for about 20 minutes, until you get to St. Mellion. Drive through the village, and go straight
across the roundabout. Continue for about 3/4 mile and turn LEFT at PAYNTERS CROSS, signposted to Cargreen,
Landulph and The Crooked Spaniards Inn.
After 100 yards you will see the granite gateposts of Pentillie Castle straight in front of you. Follow the drive all the way down to the house taking care of the speed humps, pheasants and peacocks!
(NOTE: If you inadvertently take the wrong turning to Cargreen and Landulph and you don’t see Pentillie’s gates after 100 yards, DON’T PANIC! Continue to the T-junction, turn left and go up the hill. The gates to Pentillie will be on your RIGHT at the top of the hill, beside a granite lodge house. The gates to Pentillie are on the right just before the main road, beside a granite lodge house.)

Please note that no animals are permitted at the event site. There will also be no shading in car-park areas.
