Pentillie Castle - home of the Festival of Speed

History

Pentillie Castle, built in 1698, is set on a steep promontory on the banks of the River Tamar only 20 minutes from the centre of Plymouth, and five minutes from the A38 into Cornwall.

Following its appearance on Channel 4’s Country House Rescue in January 2009, Pentillie opened as an exclusive venue hosting weddings, corporate events and parties in June of the same year.

Pentillie boasts multi award-winning accommodation (Gold B&B/Guest Accommodation Cornwall Tourism Awards 2011 and Winner Best Accommodation Hudson’s Heritage Awards 2011), shortlisted (Gold, Silver or Bronze) South West Excellence in Tourism Awards 2012) in nine double en-suite bedrooms. It is situated in 55 acres of woodland gardens surrounded by 500 acres of parkland. The twisting drive that runs through the parkland and past the castle to the river will be the focus of the Festival of Speed.

Pentillie has recently hosted corporate events for Coutts, Wrigley, JP Morgan, Louis Vuitton, Strutt and Parker, and Ginsters among others.
